 STEVE TYREE forms the heart of the big band’s trumpet section. He and his wife Marilyn founded the band in 1999. Steve, also known as “Bear,” has a basement full of brass instruments, all of which he plays well. He is the trumpet section’s lead screamer. Steve played in various drum and bugle corps in his early years and served in the United States Air Force for ten years as an electronics expert. His tour of duty took him to the Phillipines, Japan, Vietnam, and numerous other exciting locations in the 1970's and 80's. Marilyn lured him away from his job as a auto sub-assembly plant manager in Wilmington, Delaware, when she asked him to move to Michigan and marry her. |
