The Beltline Big Band is a full-size dance band that plays a wide variety of
30's and 40's music, including swing, foxtrots, ballads, rhumbas, cha-chas,
tangos, sambas, waltzes, polkas, and jazz charts. The band features three-part
vocals on a variety of songs, reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters.
The band is comprised of 20-some members: six saxophones, four trombones,
four trumpets, bass, piano, drums, and vocalists.
The band was formed in Grand Rapids, Michigan by Marilyn and Steve Tyree in early 1999.
The band's library contains over 500 songs, including such hits as Chattanooga Choo Choo, In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, and I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo. For a partial song list, click here.
